Speaking of eggs....I had an early visitor early this morning. A lovely kingfisher posing majestically on top of the TV aerial. It wasn't that close I could see the markings clearly....plus it was silhouetted against the sun, but from the characteristic call...I would hazard a guess it was the Black Capped Kingfisher.
It was a very pleasant surprise...and it certainly made my day.
